A couple of weeks ago, the Wild Child Coverup Set dropped. And it has been a hit! I’m so excited about the love this set has received.
I didn’t see myself getting much use of it this Sumner because I’m not ready to take my baby to the pool. However, my husband convinced me to sit by the pool for an evening drink a few days ago and I agreed. Not knowing that my hair was gonna get splashed like crazy! And if there’s one thing my hair doesn’t like it’s pool or ocean water. It’s an absolute mess once it gets wet.
Lucky for me, I wore the Wild Child Top over my swimsuit top.
The hoodie saved my life. No…really!
The hoodie is everything! No one knew how much of a mess this hair was when we left. Walking away with baby on the hip and holding my husbands hand. I left as stylish as I came. I’d say it’s worth it. 🤷🏽♀️
Thoughts on the coverup set?? Do you want to cover up your hair when leaving the pool or beach? Let me know in the comments…

The official first day of Summer is June 20th! And I know plenty of us are already enjoying sunny days. There is also another thing that some of us are enjoying or can’t wait to enjoy and that’s some pool or beach time.
We some restrictions letting up and vaccines on the rise. Getting out of the house and laying out by the pool or at the beach sounds like a good time!
With that being said, there was only one thing for a fashion designer to do at a time like this. And that’s make swimsuit coverups…of course. 🤷🏽♀️
The coverup is just as important (if not more) than the swimsuit you are wearing.
Here is a sketch of the pieces that are dropping in The Coverup Collection.
I promise the actual piece will look better than the sketch. Hey, I’m a designer not an illustrator.🤷🏽♀️
The Wild Child Set will be released tomorrow. So be sure to check it out at Blue Labels Boutique.
Will you be laying out poolside or at the beach in a coverup this Summer? Which one looks more like your style?? Let me know in the comments…
The Audacious Dress just dropped in the Fashion Not Fear Collection. It mixes the classics of gold buttons and maxi length with a beautiful vintage inspired, printed fabric.
I previously shared the original sketch that was to be made with puffy sleeves. But after taking a poll on IG, I decided to nix the sleeves.
So glad I did…
Size small already sold out! Only size medium and large remains. As you know, pieces in the Fashion Not Fear Collection are limited so grab yours while you can.

As we start moving into hotter weather, a new threat starts to emerge in our wardrobe; humidity. Hot and humid climates can eventually lead to a lot of moisture build-up in our homes. These conditions can eventually lead to mould in our living areas, but worst of all, they can actually start to affect our clothes and storage areas.
Humid conditions aren’t helped by our home conditions and things can quickly spiral out of control. If you’re not prepared for these potential conditions, then it could cause major issues with your clothes storage. So in this post, we’re going to talk about a few ways how you can store your clothes and keep them safe from hot and humid conditions.
Check your air conditioning or HVAC unit to see if it’s producing a lot of moisture
It’s worth contacting a 24 hour AC repair to help them maintain your air conditioning unit before we get into warmer weather. The issue that a lot of people face is that they don’t properly store or maintain their air conditioning unit when they’re not actively using it. We’re starting to come out of a period of cold and wet weather, so there’s a chance that our HVAC units need a bit of maintenance in order to work correctly.
One of the biggest problems is that HVAC units can struggle to remove humidity depending on weather conditions. However, it can also be affected by fan speed and also the condition of the evaporator coils. If the air conditioning unit hasn’t been used much in the past few months, then there’s a chance that dust might be gathering on the coils or the air filter might be dusty enough that it’s failing to remove any moisture. A scheduled maintenance can ensure that your air conditioning unit is working correctly.
Use cloth bags for storing things and keep desiccant packs around
Cloth bags are an excellent way to store things that you won’t be wearing for a while. For instance, if you’re switching away from your winter wardrobe and have a unique dress that you want to protect until next season, then you should ideally keep it in a clothing bag so that it’s protected from any potential moisture and it also takes up less space on your clothing rack. The clearer you keep your wardrobe, the easier it is for air to flow around which leads to less mould growth and more moisture release.
Another great way to remove moisture from certain areas is to use desiccant packs. These are the little white packets that you might find in bags of food or cooking products. They’re excellent for sucking up excess moisture and we highly recommend putting a pack or two of them in your shoes, storage cupboards, and even in your wardrobe to help keep the moisture away. Desiccant packs are not edible and should be kept away from children, so make sure you’re aware of these potential dangers before you buy a load of them.
Not too long ago, I posted a sketch of a new dress being made for the Fashion Not Fear Collection.
I’ve really been wanting to get my followers more involved in the process of making this dress. Everyone has options they want to share. And I love hearing them!
The first question I asked on IG stories was whether to go with a solid or a printed fabric.
Printed fabric won by a landslide. So, I took a lot of time to find a vintage inspired fabric to make this dress out of.
After getting advice on the fabric, I posted another question a few days ago to get advice.
The bodice was being made. After putting on one sleeve, I left the other one off to ask, “Should the dress be made with or without sleeves?”
100% voted to go with no sleeves. That’s what I was thinking. Which is why I asked. Plus, it’s gonna hit almost 100 degrees this week. So, this girl wants her arms out.
Be sure to follow me on IG so you can be apart of the next creation. Plus, there is an AWESOME giveaway happening on there right now. Look for the post on our page.
This look will be finished this weekend. I’m so excited to share it with you. Thoughts on the changes?? Let me know in the comments…
Spring arrived a few weeks back and who’s excited about it? Flowers, sunny days, fruit season…what’s not to love?
Now that it’s arrived, you may be in need of adding a bit of Spring to your wardrobe too.
Springerizing your closet doesn’t require you to buy a whole need wardrobe. There are a few easy things you can do to make you ready to get out there and enjoy the new season.
And they are…
Add something sheer to your look. Out with the heavy fabric and in with the lightweight flowy stuff. A sheer top of skirt paired with a simple skirt or t-shirt will do the trick.
Tribal Girl Skirt
Flower Power! Nothing says spring like a floral piece. It can be something as simple as a floral printed headband.
Gallant Headband
Flirty Hem – A dress with a flirty hem is the way to go for Spring! Especially one that will go with any tank you already have in your closet. Or without a tank.
Denim On The Fray Dress
Add a pop of color – Now is the time to break up the black you’ve been wearing with some color. A bold pair of earrings will put the Spring in your step.
Fish Scale Earrings
Be Shady – Shades are a must to blocking the Spring sun in style.
Kat Sunglasses
These simple additions will have you rocking Spring in style. Which are your faves?? Let me know in the comments…
A few days ago, I shared a sketch of the next dress being made for the Fashion Not Fear Collection.
In that post, the question was asked if the dress should be made from a printed material or a solid color material. The poll question was also asked on IG story. Print won by an overwhelming margin on both platforms.
After you helped to pick a fabric style, my search was on! I knew I wanted something that was rich in color. But also something that has sort of a vintage look.
Well, without further ado…check out the fabric that was selected.
It has colors of green, yellow, white, navy, orange and specks of other colors too. I searched high and low for a textile that would match the look I was going for. And this one nailed it!
And so the sewing is about to begin. Can’t wait for you to see this one completed. What are your thoughts on the fabric? Let me know in the comments…
New accessories have been added to Blue Labels Boutique. Its one of the easiest and less expensive ways to put some Spring in your wardrobe. After all, it is only 5 days away! Can you believe it??
