Prints won by a very large margin. So this dress will definitely be made from a printed material. Stay tuned for the reveal! Thoughts on which I should go with??? Drop them in the comments…
Dresses have always been my thing. Even as a little girl, I didn’t feel like I was dressed up or cute unless I was wearing a dress. Jeans just didn’t give me the same “pretty” feeling. I still haven’t lost my love of dresses.
Sanguine Dress
Thats actually the reason Blue Labels Boutique went from a regular boutique to a dress boutique. I know that I can’t be the only one out here who loves dresses! Am I?
Whether you love dresses or are on the fence about being a true dress lover; here are some reasons to fall in love with this singular piece of fabric.
#1. Dresses are easy to put on and take off.
#2. Dresses are comfortable.
#3. Automatic air conditioning when it’s hot outside.
#4. Dresses look good with all shoes from sneakers to heels and boots.
#5. Dresses are sex friendly. Self explanatory.
#6. Dresses are forgiving when you’ve had to much to eat.
#7. Dresses are easy to pack when traveling. They take up less space in your luggage unless it’s a ball gown or tulle.
#8. Dresses only require one hanger in your closet.
#9. Dresses give you that “pretty” feeling.

This is a question I asked myself a few days ago. The thought started after doing some research. In an effort to elevate Fashion Not Fear, I’m always researching, learning, listening, etc. This time the plan was to research what people look for in what they consider a luxury brand. What makes a person invest in a brand?
I summed up my research and here’s what I found:
1. Many people who buy luxury can’t afford it.
2. Some consumers consider non-luxury as inferior. They assume that it is of a better value or quality because it is higher priced.
3. Luxury goods increases some people’s self esteem and provides a sense of belonging.
4. Buying luxury goods provides a sense of accomplishment.
Admittedly, I used to fall into each one of these categories. I’ve bought clothes and bags that I couldn’t afford. Because it made me feel good about myself. It made me feel like I was a step above the rest. Plus, it had to have the logo or name on the outside just to be sure that everyone knew that I was doing it big!
My thoughts changed when I started to pay attention to the quality of the goods that were “luxury”. The bags that cost $500 was peeling. Dresses that cost hundreds of dollars couldn’t even stand a wash on the gentle cycle. They would turn out with lint or would be stretched out where it no longer fit the same.
I slowly started buying clothes that were well constructed and of good material. Without even looking at the label. This was years before creating Fashion Not Fear.
Why spend that kind of money on something that was gonna have to be thrown away or given away because it turned out to be a piece of crap?!
Why waste the money??
Years later, I started working on Fashion Not Fear. After never really being able to find the style or fit I was looking for. And if I did, I Sam sure wasn’t going to spend a stack of cash on it. For dead if the same thing happening. I knew I could r be the only one who wanted a cute dress to wear that wasn’t so cheap that it couldn’t be cleaned without shrinking. But wasn’t so expensive that I had to make payment arrangements on my light bill in order to but it.
Now, I define luxury in my own way. I want what I’m wearing to make me feel pretty, confident, and comfortable. While I still have money left to cover my bills and buy a cocktail!
Who cares how cute you look if you don’t have any money left to leave the house anyway, right?! 🤷🏽♀️
How do you define a luxury brand? What decisions do you consider when Celebrity influence, style, affordability, etc. let me know in the comments,,,
There you have it! 5 awesome picks if this is your color. Feeling any pieces?! Cop ‘em while you can and leave a comment to let me know which ones you like!
A few weeks ago, I posted a video of the last time Fashion Not Fear was on runway. It was 2019. You know how people say, “you never know what you have ‘til it’s gone.” I couldn’t agree with that statement any more than I do right now.
This mama is having some serious fashion show withdrawals. Completing a collection and seeing it go down a runway is one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced. It’s a lot of work. Plus, there are times when I’m up late at night, cursing at the machine and throwing stuff. But it’s always worth it in the end. Always.
According to the latest updates about COVID, it appears that things won’t be anywhere close to being normal until the Fall. Which has me wondering should I wait or do a virtual runway show??
I’ve attended a few virtual shows in recent months. And I really enjoyed them! During one of them I watched in my PJs with a glass of champagne in one hand and baby in the other. With others I viewed, I got dressed up just to make me feel like a part of the occasion. Either way, it was pretty fantastic!
This is where I need your help. Do you think I should do a virtual runway show?? If so, what type of things would you like to see???
2020 has been quite a year! Unfortunately, amongst other things, it led us to not be able to have a runway show. All of the shows that we were scheduled to appear in were cancelled.
But there’s always next year…hopefully!
One thing is for sure, I won’t take for granted being able to participate being in a show. I never realized how much it was missed until the option was no longer there. So, for reminiscing purposes, I wanted to show you the last show we did in 2019.
Take a look at time Fashion Not Fear was put on a runway! You will notice something about their face accessories. Am I a fortune teller or what?? Plus, wait til the end to get all of the outfit details.
Which was your favorite look?? Let me know in the comments…
As you know, new pieces are steadily being made for the Fashion Not Fear Collection. And when I say steadily I mean that there are about 2-3 new drops each month. Limited drops (which is why keeping you informed on the new things coming is essential.)
A new piece is currently in the beginning phase. I love the color and lace so much that I had to give you a peek into the latest textile being used.
It’s mint green, lace and will be fantastic! Can’t wait to show the final piece.
Any thoughts on what will be made?? Let me know in the comments…
