“I have nothing to wear” This is something that we have all said at least once this year. Come on…just admit it. Endless hours can be spent on shopping, styling, and scrolling for inspiration but that doesn’t stop us from having that feeling. Let’s be honest; loving what you wear is essential to having a good time. Would you agree?! I mean; isn’t this why we put so much effort into it. At least I’ve never met a fashionista who looked into the mirror right before walking out of the door, hated their outfit, and left happily anyway. Have you?
The “I have nothing to wear” problem might be considered even more difficult for dress lovers. Luckily whoever thought that was completely wrong! It’s actually quite the opposite. Dresses are the major key to solving this problem. Don’t believe me? Then check out how to solve the ‘I have nothing to wear” issue even when you are a lover of dresses!
#1 – Build a capsule collection
Capsule collections are essential to maximizing the different looks you can create. A capsule collection is a set of pieces that all mix and match with each other. It can be a set of 5-10 pieces, or 20-30; the more pieces you have to choose from, the options you will have (obviously) But it doesn’t take much to build an acceptable collection. As long as you have good foundation pieces, you are good to go! A denim dress would be an asset in a capsule collection.

#2 – Invest In A Good LBD, LWD, LRD
A good little black/white/red dress (or any color for that matter) that fits like a glove and makes you feel like a million bucks should be all up in your closet. This just means you will always know exactly what to wear when you are feeling the fashion funk.

#3 – Dresses Are Tops Too
Just because it’s labeled as a dress doesn’t mean that it has to be worn as one. Tuck a dress into a skirt or pants and wear it as a top. Wear a button-up dress as a coverup or let it play double duty as a kimono.

#4 – Keep unique/statement-making accessories on deck
An unique accessory really steps up your style game to a whole ’nother level. A body harness or popping handbag will add something new to your look.
# 5 – Change everything BUT your clothes like trying a new lip color, eye shadow, new hair, etc
Sometimes it isn’t about what you’re wearing. A simple change (not outfit related) can give you a different outlook on your style options. Change up your make up, hair, try a new hair accessory or nail color…you might be surprised how these small details make a big impact. Plus, it just makes you feel different.

# 6 – Wear Dresses as Skirts
Of course, this isn’t an option when a dress has billowy sleeves and heavy embroidery. But it’s definitely an option for more sleek designs.
Would these tips solve your “I have nothing to wear” problem? If not, what would you add to the list?? Let me know in the comments…
This might come as a surprise but…you are a trendsetter. If you didn’t already know, let me be the first one to give you the good news! Don’t get me wrong, the celebrities, musicians, and bloggers whos’ style some immolate are trendsetters, too. But what makes them any more of a trendsetter than you?
Their bank account.Who says you have to be wearing a $350 dollar t-shirt to be a trendsetter?
Their social media presence?Contrary to others opinion, you don’t need millions of followers to set trends. There are other ways!
I can go over a mile long list of excuses but the truth is two things separate us from you. Confidence and fearlessness. They have the confidence to wear it. Along with the fearlessness of not giving a shit what we think about it. That’s it! Sounds simple enough, right?
Let me break it down for you. Following trends and maximizing the trendsetter in you will be too easy with these tips.…

When it comes to following trends…
Wear one trend at a time – too many trends at once screams, “Please think I’m cool!”
Make it your own –
Don’t copy, get inspired – I don’t know about you but who likes a copycat?? I’ll wait. Exactly! Let the styles that you see on tv, videos, and social media inspire you. Don’t let it make you want to become an exact replica. Putting a pink rinse on your hair is one thing. But having surgery to make your ears flat like theirs…come on now!
Accept that all trends aren’t for you. Just because someone said it’s a “thing” doesn’t mean it has to be your thing! Clear vinyl tops and skirts are a thing too, but you won’t catch me in one. Just saying…

When you want to show off the trendsetter in you…
This is YOUR style trend. No one else has to like it.
Be realistic. If receiving title of “top trendsetter” is your goal than you have to know that wearing a fake peacock on a headband won’t go far.
Embrace your crazy – Not peacock on the headband crazy. But just because your squad didn’t run out to buy the same thing, doesn’t mean it isn’t trendsetting. Don’t be afraid to try something different.
Don’t overthink it. Fashion and style is supposed to be fun. Something that makes you feel good. It you put it on and it feels good to you…then go with it!
Fake it tip you make it. Confidence is and always will be key. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t times when you wear something and think, “is this a good look?”. Be happy with your style choice and wear it confidence. But in the meantime remember that the key to faking confidence…a smile.
Now go out there and set some trends! How do you show off the trendsetter in you? Which of these tips do you find most useful? Let me know in the comments…
“I don’t want to see you leave but I love to watch you walk away.” I don’t remember who said that and in what movie, but it was the first thing that popped into my head when I started writing this. Who doesn’t want to wear something that looks amazing when you’re coming and going?! There have been times when I’ve seen a dress hanging in a window that was so cute. But when I walk into the store, pick it up off the rack, turn around and gasp…that’s when I know that I have to take it home with me. Or when I’m shopping online and click to see other views of a dress and the back of it makes my heart flutter. There’s nothing like that unexpected detail that catch peoples’ eye. Here are 3 pieces you can cop from BLB that will make you want to walk into a room…backwards.

This is how you make an exit! Anyone recall where that movie line is from? Which dress is your fave?
Satin can be worn comfortably in the Summer. That is a sentence that some of you might not believe. But you can mark my words…it’s true. Sure, it isn’t stretchable. And maybe it isn’t know as being the most breathable textile around. But that doesn’t mean this shiny goodness has to be banned to the back of the closet when it is warm outside. You have to bring it out, bring it out!
In Texas, it is not rare to have days when the temperature passes 100 degrees and don’t get me started on the humidity. The thought of those sweat stains alone could make anyone un, not walk, away from satin. I get it. But that will no longer be a concern.
Here are 3 tips on how to finesse satin when it’s hot as hell outside!
#1 – Wearing cotton panties will be your saving grace.
#2 –Rub a thin layer of deodorant between your thighs. It does wonders to help with the sweat.
#3 – Toss on a bit on body powder in areas like under your breasts, in your back, and tummy. This is good for only for lighter colors. The powder will eventually seep through and show in dark colors.

Monday is Memorial Day and who is looking forward to a 3 day weekend?! 🙋🏽
Most of us will spend at least one free day at a bar-b-que, on a road trip, at the beach or taking advantage of the sales that will be going on.
My plan is to do all of the above! First, I will head to my moms house to eat. After that, bae and I are jumping in the car for a 2-hr trip to Corpus Christi. Cramming all of this into one day meant one thing; it is of the upmost importance that I wear something that will easily transition from one thing to another.
I had to make sure this problem was resolved before the day actually arrived. I needed something comfy, cute, and cool in this Texas heat. I decided to rock the Don’t Plaid With Me Dress. I layed out the ootds for the day and this is what I came up with…
Barbecue ‘Fit – Since the barbecue will be full of family (including kids) and activities which is why I will wear it with denim cutoffs. With the front tucked in, of course!
Roadtrip ‘Fit – No cutoffs needed when it’s time to hit the road!
Beach ‘Fit – This shirtdress is made of cotton and linen which makes it breathable and cool in the sun. Plus, it is will double as a coverup.
When I finally get around to the shopping, who cares what I will be wearing?! I will be at home with my feet kicked scouring the web for the best sales!
Journalist, Sade A. Spence answered that question after we asked her to style the Victoria Daisydress.
Sade is in Brooklyn, NY and let’s just say they aren’t exactly basking in the sun at the moment. But I was so excited to learn that the fearless fashionista didn’t let the frigid temps stop her. Sade rocked it in the dress, proving not only that she is willing to freeze for fashion. But she also proves just how sexy you can be in 40 degree weather. Take a look…
