    How I Brought In 2021

We have finally made it to 2021. And I couldn’t be more excited about it. Although, when I watch tv and scroll online nothing has changed from 2020. I still feel a great deal of optimism with the start of the new year.

For the past few years, I’ve kept a low profile when bringing in the new year. Last year, I was pregnant so I spent it watching my husband sleep after he drank about 3 glasses of champagne. The years before that we were all about partying!

This year was COMPLETELY new to me! I mean…I’m a mother now so celebrating this year versus before I became a mother is drastically different. A few years ago, I would be so busy enjoying cocktails, my husband would have to really get my attention when the clock strikes 12. This year, I was waiting for it to turn 12 so I could let him go to bed since he had to work the next day.

This year we put on our matching Tupac shirts, jeans, with sneakers and dressed my baby in his pajamas. And my family headed to my moms house for a small get together.

The party included my family, my mom, my brother with his three kids, my nieces boyfriend, and my other brother.

We enjoyed pizza and drinks while making vision boards. Then went around the room to explain what we placed on our boards and how we were going to achieve these goals.

Very soon after midnight, we packed up the baby and headed home. I actually felt terrible because my baby didn’t go to sleep until 1am. Although, he did take some naps at moms house. He’s never gone to bed that late so needless to say he was in rare form the next day.

Even though it was vastly different from my previous NYE celebrations. I have to admit it was the best one yet. I’m grateful to have been able to spend time with my family. Especially since so many people weren’t able to do that due to the pandemic. I was also extremely excited to bring in another year with my husband and son. I’m still in awe of my little family. It’s something I’ve always wanted but never thought I’d be blessed to have. So no complaints from me!!

Sooo, that was my NYE in a nutshell. How did you bring in the new year? Let me know in the comments…

What To Do (And Wear) Tonight If You’re Staying In

There was a time when you couldn’t beat me going out on NYE. The planning for it started well before Christmas. From what to do, wear, drink, figuring out a budget, how to get there, appointing a designated driver…it was alot.

But I’ll admit that things changed about 5 years ago. It all began when my fiancé and I went drove to Austin. The day was spent looking for an outfit. Then we checked into a hotel and laid down to see how comfy the bed was. The next thing I knew….we woke up at 3am wondering what the hell happened. We both slept through NYE! Who does that?

From then on, my NYE celebration has been at home, a cousins house, my moms, etc. Im not against going out. I’ve just become a professional at home NYE celebrator. Plus, no designated driver is needed. Here is an easy NYE itinerary if you will be in the house tonight…
