    Fearless Woman: Laura Naomi

    Happy Fearless Woman Fridays 💙

Today I am happy to introduce you to our Fearless Woman this week, Laura Naomi. When Laura contacted me about her story, the first question that I asked her was, “Why would you call yourself fearless?” Her answer was, “I have been called fearless by others and in those moments of fearlessness it didn’t feel that way to me. I was just simply following a calling and that calling was something deep inside me and I felt it in my whole heart. I have done things that possibly a lot of people haven’t or wouldn’t.” After hearing that, I knew not only did I need to know more about her but you did too. Listen to Lauras’ fearless story…

    FNF Is So Grateful & Here’s Why…

Thanksgiving is only a few days away, can you believe it?   I surely can’t!  Filling our bellies with comfort food and laughing with family are only a few things to look forward to.  But Thanksgiving is much more than that.  For me, it’s a time to express gratitude in a bigger way for the little (and big things) that have happened throughout the year.  Yep, Turkey Day seems to create a warm and fuzzy feeling that will have you joyously singing from rooftops.

2016 has been a tremendous year for Fashion Not Fear, take a look at 5 things we are giving thanks for…

Helping Save Babies – Did you know babies born to women of color are almost 3x’s greater to be born with defects or worse than the statistic of other ethnicities. The Birthing Project is a non-profit organization that is helping to change that through free childbirth education, mentorship, professional labor support, and breastfeeding education. We were excited and grateful to partner up with them by donating a giftcard & Spiral Midi Ring to help their project raise money during their Benefit Auction on 11/12/2016.

Getting Social – BLB and FNF are both fairly new to the social media game.  But since joining we are have really enjoyed being social with our followers.  And we are sooooooo grateful for our 400+ IG followers, 200+ Twitter followers, 550+ FB followers and over 150 FNF followers.  Thanks for taking time out of your day to read our blog, like a photo, leave a comment, etc.   You’re truly appreciated!

Cancelled Shows – We are thankful for two shows being cancelled at the last minute.  Yes, I said that I am thankful that 2 big fashion shows were cancelled.  BLB was scheduled to hit the runway in back to back shows.  One in Missouri and the other in Nebraska.  On the date that we were about to hit the road, I received an email with the following subject line: “Don’t come…”  At the time, it was the absolute worst thing that could ever happen.   All of the planning and money spent went right down the drain.  However, a lesson was  quickly learned.   Get a signed contact, lesson learned.

Fab Collaborations –  BLB has been rocked by some of the best bloggers out there!  For instance, Sade A. Spence killed it in the Don’t Rust Me Trousers. We are grateful to have fashionistas who enjoy our styles.  (pic by Hamilton Wolfe)

BLB Brand Reps – We recently announced our Brand Rep Program and it’s off to a great start!  Our Brand Reps earn commission on sales placed at Blue Labels Boutique, receive free gifts and more.   We are so grateful that our reps are helping us spread the fashion love.  We couldn’t be happier…seriously.  Thanks to each and every one of you.  Get more information here if you want to be part of the team.

Many thanks and blessings to you!  What are you grateful for?

  • Fearless Woman: Shanon Lee

    Fearless Woman: Shanon Lee

    Happy Fearless Woman Friday 💙

As you know, on Fearless Woman Friday we shine the spotlight on a woman who is well…fearless.  Your idea of what it means to be fearless may be something completely different from how I or anyone else in the world defines it.  Someone might consider themselves to be fearless because they ran a marathon that they never thought they could.  Being fearless could be the person who quit their comfy cubicle job with a consistent paycheck, to become an aspiring signer with no paycheck.  That’s really what they wanted to do but that little voice (or the voices around them) said it could never happen.  Being fearless is simply, living the life that you want, accomplishing your goals without letting fear hold you back from doing whatever that IT is.  You define your own fearless life.

I’m happy to introduce Shanon Lee as this weeks’ Fearless Woman.  This writer and filmmaker shares her story on how she survived rape and domestic violence.  And the mantras that she shares are perfect!

    And don’t miss her movie…

  • Fearless Woman: Desh Dixon

    Fearless Woman: Desh Dixon

Happy Friday, we finally made it!  Am I the only one who’s ready to kick off the heels and pop a bottle? Soon enough, let’s get to the business, for now. 🍷

I am super excited to share with you the story of this weeks’ fearless woman.  Desh Dixon is author of the book, “No More Broken Records: 5 Tips To Change Your Tune and Transform Your Life”.  She finished the book in 2014 but the judgement she feared would come along with opening herself up kept her from releasing it.  Then something happened…

Find out what that was and how she is empowering other women not to settle in this episode of Fearless Woman.

She dropped some serious jewels about self worth and fearlessness, didn’t she?  Thanks for sharing!  If you to keep up with Desh, you can find her on FB @petitewithpurpose and Twitter & IG @DeshDixon, and her book is available on Amazon.

Why Hello There Beauty #Girlbosses Interview

I had the honor of being interviewed by Emily Crawford on, Why Hello Beauty,  which is an Australian-based beauty and lifestyle blog.  They have a #girlboss series which features women who are business owners to see what it’s like to walk in their shoes everyday.

As a fashion entrepreneur, I wear many hats.  (Which doesn’t bother me, as long as they match with my outfit!)  But running a boutique,  writing and contributing to fashion editorials, runway shows and more can make for quite a bumpy ride.  Admittedly, coffee and champagne certainly helps to make it alot smoother!  😉

So, of course, I was more than happy to oblige when I was asked to quickly give a lil’ more insight into what my day to day life is like.
