10 Reasons To Love Wearing Dresses…Do You Agree? 🤔

Dresses have always been my thing. Even as a little girl, I didn’t feel like I was dressed up or cute unless I was wearing a dress. Jeans just didn’t give me the same “pretty” feeling. I still haven’t lost my love of dresses.

Thats actually the reason Blue Labels Boutique went from a regular boutique to a dress boutique. I know that I can’t be the only one out here who loves dresses! Am I?

Whether you love dresses or are on the fence about being a true dress lover; here are some reasons to fall in love with this singular piece of fabric.

#1. Dresses are easy to put on and take off.

    #2. Dresses are comfortable.

#3. Automatic air conditioning when it’s hot outside.

#4. Dresses look good with all shoes from sneakers to heels and boots.

#5. Dresses are sex friendly. Self explanatory.

#6. Dresses are forgiving when you’ve had to much to eat.

#7. Dresses are easy to pack when traveling. They take up less space in your luggage unless it’s a ball gown or tulle.

#8. Dresses only require one hanger in your closet.

#9. Dresses give you that “pretty” feeling.

A Blazer Dress With Gym Shoes 🤔

Self proclaimed dress fanatic here! Which means; you will find me in a dress almost every time you see me.

It doesn’t matter what I’m supposed to do that day either. I can be moving a piece of furniture or sewing up a dress. It’s what I love and what is most comfortable (to me.)

Yesterday, I came home from the gym. As soon as I hit the door, I was asked, “You wore that to the gym?”

“No, I put it on after.” I answered.

  • How To Solve The, “I Have Nothing To Wear” Problem For Dress Lovers

How To Solve The, “I Have Nothing To Wear” Problem For Dress Lovers

“I have nothing to wear”  This is something that we have all said at least once this year.  Come on…just admit it.  Endless hours can be spent on shopping, styling, and scrolling for inspiration but that doesn’t stop us from having that feeling.  Let’s be honest; loving what you wear is essential to having a good time.  Would you agree?!  I mean; isn’t this why we put so much effort into it.  At least I’ve never met a fashionista who looked into the mirror right before walking out of the door, hated their outfit, and left happily anyway.  Have you?
The “I have nothing to wear” problem might be considered even more difficult for dress lovers.  Luckily whoever thought that was completely wrong!  It’s actually quite the opposite.  Dresses are the major key to solving this problem.  Don’t believe me?   Then check out how to solve the ‘I have nothing to wear” issue even when you are a lover of dresses!

    #1 – Build a capsule collection

Capsule collections are essential to maximizing the different looks you can create.  A capsule collection is a set of pieces that all mix and match with each other.  It can be a set of 5-10 pieces, or 20-30; the more pieces you have to choose from, the options you will have (obviously)  But it doesn’t take much to build an acceptable collection.  As long as you have good foundation pieces, you are good to go!  A denim dress would be an asset in a capsule collection.

#2 – Invest In A Good LBD, LWD, LRD

A good little black/white/red dress (or any color for that matter) that fits like a glove and makes you feel like a million bucks should be all up in your closet.  This just means you will always know exactly what to wear when you are feeling the fashion funk.

#3 – Dresses Are Tops Too

Just because it’s labeled as a dress doesn’t mean that it has to be worn as one.  Tuck a dress into a skirt or pants and wear it as a top.  Wear a button-up dress as a coverup or let it play double duty as a kimono.

    #4 – Keep unique/statement-making accessories on deck

An unique accessory really steps up your style game to a whole ’nother level.  A body harness or popping handbag will add something new to your look.

    # 5 – Change everything BUT your clothes like trying a new lip color, eye shadow, new hair, etc

Sometimes it isn’t about what you’re wearing.  A simple change (not outfit related) can give you a different outlook on your style options.  Change up your make up, hair, try a new hair accessory or nail color…you might be surprised how these small details make a big impact.  Plus, it just makes you feel different.

    # 6 – Wear Dresses as Skirts

Of course, this isn’t an option when a dress has billowy sleeves and heavy embroidery.  But it’s definitely an option for more sleek designs.
Would these tips solve your “I have nothing to wear” problem?  If not, what would you add to the list??  Let me know in the comments…

  • 9 Reasons To Take Your Pants Off

9 Reasons To Take Your Pants Off

It was recently announced that Blue Labels Boutique is now a dress boutique.  Moving forward you will find the best styles of dresses, skirts, and accessories. We are growing and adding new dress styles each week and I couldn’t be more excited!  To be honest, it was originally the plan to open as a dress boutique but at the last minute, I changed my mind.  Damn fear.  But after much thought,  I decided it was time to change the game and go with my original plan.  I have ALWAYS loved dresses.  Dresses and skirts have been my go to style for every occasion for as long as I can remember.  You will often find me on Saturday mornings in a mini with a pair of sneakers at my nephews basketball game.  Or a maxi with sky high wedges while on a shopping trip with my boo.

    “You’re always overdressed”

is something that I’ve heard from my older brother more times than I can count.  But some people just don’t get it, poor guy.

Since you will now be able to shop a curated collection of some of the most stylish and classic styles in the game, it would only be right to give you some reasons to take your pants off, right?!

    Here are 10 reasons :

    • Dresses let air flow, pants don’t.  The heat gets REAL when you’re having a day out especially in areas like Texas.  Having a day out means that there will be times you will be pretty much begging for some air.  The sweat stains alone give me nightmares.  A summer breeze in the right places are just what a girl needs on a hot day.  Only a dress can make that happen.

    • Jeans aren’t meal friendly.  Who doesn’t have those dinner dates when you decide to go extra hard on the chips and guacamole?  Now, those are the days a billowy dress is made for!

    • Dresses can easily go from casual to dressy by changing your shoes.  Tennis shoes and flats say casual but throw on a pair of heels.  It will instantly change the game.

                                                       backpackpicbluelabelsboutique.jpg

    • Dresses take up less space in your bag.  Most of us, plan on taking some sort of trip this season.  Jeans and trousers require a coordinating pieces, right?  That means more space taken up in your bag.  Avoid those ridiculously high baggage fees by packing dresses.  You will have more outfit options on your vacay.  Plus, the airlines don’t charge for carryons…yet.

    • Buying a dress means that you’re getting a complete outfit.  That sounds easy enough.

    • You can pick length options based on your mood.  Are you feeling a mini, midi, or maxi today?

    • It has been proven, kind of, that dresses brings more boys to the yard.  The Express Tribune poll is just one example of reports that support this.

    • Some dresses are magic.  I’m not kidding!  One of my favorite designers, DVF, created absolute body magic when she created the wrap dress.  This silhouette (and others that pull you in at the waist) will create an hourglass shape unlike any other style.  If you don’t have one then let me ask you, “What are you waiting for?”

    • Two words…skinny jeans.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of skinny jeans like everyone else.  Hell, they are one of the reasons why I go to the gym 4x’s a week.  But they aren’t exactly what I would call comfortable.  Let’s be honest, I cringe even thinking about wearing them when I’m having one of those days.  I’d much rather be in a button up sneakers.  How ‘bout you?

Are you a dress lover?  I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
