Date night is crucial whether you have been together forever or if this is your first time meeting. It’s a occasion to cut off your phones (yes, cut them off), throw on a cute dress, and spend time with your boo that involves actual eye contact.
I’m sure alot of you are like me when it comes to dresses. I pick my dress based on my mood for the day. Sometimes I want to wear the shortest, sexiest thing I can find. Other dates, I want to only show my shoulders or a maxi. Here are 3 dresses to consider for date night based on your mood.

Which would be your pick for date night…1, 2, or 3?! Let me know in the comments…

Dresses have been my favorite garment since I can remember. When I was little, I would throw a tantrum if my mom put me in anything other than a dress. A football game or church; it didn’t matter to me. As I got older, my passion continued. In high school, you would find me in a different dress every day of the week. At that time, the only thing I knew is that wearing a dress made me feel pretty.
Growing up from a girl to a women is when things started to change. Dresses were getting me out tickets, giving me free upgrades and other complimentary things. All from being in a dress at the right time. Seriously! I’m not talking about a mini dress with cutouts all over the place. Quite the opposite, I’m referring to styles that you can wear anywhere.
Thats when I began to realize that there is power in wearing this one piece of clothing. I think it’s a combination of things. For one, dresses show off your body. Which means being confident is important. Recognizing how the stares are different from when wearing jeans. Who doesn’t appreciate an innocent stare of admiration?
What I learned from this is that…it really isn’t about the dress, it just helps create the narrative, the power comes from you!
The power that you harness in a dress commands attention when you walk into a room. It helps you nail a presentation at work. It keeps baes’ attention. It may even get YOU out of a ticket. Interested?! Then, check out these tips on unleashing the power of a dress!

Strut don’t walk – Humans walk, confident women strut. A strut by definition is a; walk with a stiff, erect, and apparently arrogant or conceited gait. But walking around with your shoulders back doesn’t mean you’re arrogant. Push your shoulders back and place one foot in front of the other in confidence.
Hips don’t lie – Slightly swaying your hips as you walk helps you work it. Milkshakes really do bring all of the boys to the yard. Thanks Kelis 😉
Show those legs, girl! – Good legs are something to show off. Draw attention to your legs by wearing heels, fishnets, knee high boots, ankle socks, etc.
Rule Of Thumb When It Comes To Shoes – Shoes are important especially in a dress. They can really vamp up your silhouette. My rule of thumb is; if the dress is baggy, add height with heels. But flats, sneakers, or heels work with any slim fitting or body conscious dress.
Act like a lady– Knowing how to properly get in and out of a car or sitting in a dress are key to harnessing your dress power. Getting In & Out Or Car: put your butt in the seat first & swing both legs into the car at the same time. When sitting: Cross legs or ankles. Pretty simple.
Use which tips work best for you but remember; confidence is key! There is power in being your unique self. Use it! Dresses can do more than make you feel pretty. Anyone can throw on a dress but it takes skill to unleash its’ power! Thoughts?? Let me know in the comments…
