Spring has finally arrived. And if there’s one thing I love about Spring when it comes to fashion is color and flowery prints!
Shades of orange, tangerine, and coral are big this season. If you’re feeling this shade, then these are the pieces you need to add to your Spring gear.
If you have been following us for a while, you might think that you know all there is to know about Blue Labels Boutique and Fashion Not Fear. Let’s be honest, there isn’t a way to know EVERYTHING. I mean you can, if you sit back and do your research…but who has time for that??
Today is as good a day to strengthen our bond. Wouldn’t you agree?? Here are 11 things you didn’t know about Blue Labels Boutique.

Hope you all are having a great humpday. Only two days ’til the weekend. Thank goodness! Guess I’m also excited about an upcoming pop up.
One of the things I love about BLB is doing pop up shops. But it didn’t start out that way. When I first began BLB, I thought my days would be spent behind a computer purchasing, processing orders, maintaining a website, writing a blog every once in a while. About 1 1/2 year into it, I realized it was necessary to go offline and connect with people. This was horrifying to me! I didn’t want to interact face- to- face with others. Not because I didn’t want to but because I was afraid! This whole fashion business was new to me (and still is). Will people like my selection? What type of questions are they going to ask me? What if I don’t know how to swipe their credit card? I feared it all! But after pushing the fear aside, BLB participated in our first pop up event in 2015 at an outdoor market in San Antonio.

I’ve been addicted ever since. You can now catch BLB popping up in various cities on a monthly basis! Its funny how the same things that scared the shit out of me, now excite me?! I welcome the questions. Enjoy helping fashionistas shop for something they love! Plus, I am well equipped for any card mishaps. ☺️
On this Saturday, 8/5, BLB will be at an event benefiting the San Antonio Food Bank. The details are below. Hope to see you there.
Monday is Memorial Day and who is looking forward to a 3 day weekend?! 🙋🏽
Most of us will spend at least one free day at a bar-b-que, on a road trip, at the beach or taking advantage of the sales that will be going on.
My plan is to do all of the above! First, I will head to my moms house to eat. After that, bae and I are jumping in the car for a 2-hr trip to Corpus Christi. Cramming all of this into one day meant one thing; it is of the upmost importance that I wear something that will easily transition from one thing to another.
I had to make sure this problem was resolved before the day actually arrived. I needed something comfy, cute, and cool in this Texas heat. I decided to rock the Don’t Plaid With Me Dress. I layed out the ootds for the day and this is what I came up with…
Barbecue ‘Fit – Since the barbecue will be full of family (including kids) and activities which is why I will wear it with denim cutoffs. With the front tucked in, of course!
Roadtrip ‘Fit – No cutoffs needed when it’s time to hit the road!
Beach ‘Fit – This shirtdress is made of cotton and linen which makes it breathable and cool in the sun. Plus, it is will double as a coverup.
When I finally get around to the shopping, who cares what I will be wearing?! I will be at home with my feet kicked scouring the web for the best sales!
I absolutely LOVE sourcing new items forBLB! It is like going on a shopping spree all of the time. Whether I leave empty-handed or with a cart full, the rush that I get from the whole process is so worth it. And the excitement that comes all over me when I find something that fits perfectly in the boutique is even better. Which is why I always give them a name when we “meet”. There has never been a time when I waited to name a product. Before I know what’s it’s made of, set a price, or anything else, I always name it the first thing that comes to mind. That first thought is typically along the lines of, “Where would you wear this?” or “What does this remind me of?” Is that weird?
It was no different when I found this dress. Please allow me to introduce you to the To The Courts Dress…
This colorblock beauty features a flirty pleated hem, white leather details and is definitely a fave. Any ideas why she received her name?
The Drama Queen Dress is a top boutique pick for a few reasons. Let’s see…its a shift dress (which is always a flattering fit), its pink with navy piping (who doesn’t love that color combo?), it is versatile (which is an absolute must) and its’ pajama-inspired (which happens to be one of my favorite styles). Just to name a few! ☺️
I gave you reasons to love it, now check out 3 ways to style it…
As you know we had a pop up shop for 8 days at The Shops At La Cantera in San Antonio, Tx. The first four days was from April 20th to 23th. I went over all the details week one here. Now, take a look at how the final days went…
It all started like it did like it does every show, with my fiancé and I loading all of the merchandise, racks, tents, etc from the parking lot to our spot. From there it takes about an 1-2 hours to neatly hang everything and place all accessories in its’ proper place.
You never know what to expect at these events. That’s why it’s always important to bring your patience. I love to talk and have no problems with keeping myself busy. Although, at least once a day, I send out a help! signal because I am in desperate need of a potty break or snack.
It also helps that other small businesses had pop up at the event. Lucky for me, one of them just happen to sell wine. A girl has to stay entertained… 🍷
Additionally, my girl, Manni, was there in a BLB ‘fit.
I also had the pleasure of meeting so many new bombshells! Corresponding with people through social media and email is one thing but in-person is a whole ‘other level. Who knew that I would be asking questions from what to a wedding to how to make your boobs look good in a spaghetti strap dressed. I am telling you…these pop ups make me feel like I am in fashion heaven!

On Saturday night, I was at dinner and it was ruined once I noticed how fast the trees outside the window were swaying. Not this again. If you read last weeks’ post them you will know that wind is not my friend. The only thing that I could think about during the entire dinner, “can the canopy withstand that type wind?” I mean, it’s a nice canopy but that doesn’t mean that it was sturdy. I worried and thought about it so much that we decided to take a trip back to the shop to make sure things were okay. And Thank God we did! The canopy was on three legs and clothing racks were making a trip down the sidewalk!
Other than the uncontrollable acts of God, the pop up was a complete success. Thanks to everyone came out to shop, chat, look around or simply take a card. I truly appreciate it! And to those of you who are not in the San Antonio area, no worries, we might be coming through your part of the map. Be sure to follow us so that you can come get your dose of fearlessness when we are in your town!
What city should we pop up in? Let me know in the comments…
We are back to Monday and I hope your week is off to a good start. It is definitely off to a good start for me because of this super exciting secret that I’ve been keeping from all of you!
Remember last week when I told you that I wasn’t able to attend the SPIRIT Fashion Show in Pittsburgh? Well, the reason was because of some things that had to be taken care for a different event. I am happy to announce that BLB will be having another Pop Up Shop! Get all of the deets on the invite below.
It’s only 3 days away. Come out to the pop up and chat with me!
Hooray, it’s Fri-yay! I know it sounds corny but I couldn’t resist. ☺️
It was previously announced that BLB would be participating in the 2017 SPIRIT Fashion Show at Carnegie Mellon University. The event was last Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pa. I originally planned to attend the event but things changed at the very last minute. You will get the details on that later…
I was sick about missing the show and not being able to support the students from the audience. But since this was BLBs second year styling the CMU students for their annual show I knew one thing for sure…THEY WERE GOING TO KILL IT! And they didn’t disappoint. The message this year was resisting against the limits put on women.
Take a look at what went down at the SPIRIT FASHION SHOW ’17: RESISTANCE.

Enjoy your Easter weekend & let me know what you think about styles from the show?
It was recently announced that Blue Labels Boutique is now a dress boutique. Moving forward you will find the best styles of dresses, skirts, and accessories. We are growing and adding new dress styles each week and I couldn’t be more excited! To be honest, it was originally the plan to open as a dress boutique but at the last minute, I changed my mind. Damn fear. But after much thought, I decided it was time to change the game and go with my original plan. I have ALWAYS loved dresses. Dresses and skirts have been my go to style for every occasion for as long as I can remember. You will often find me on Saturday mornings in a mini with a pair of sneakers at my nephews basketball game. Or a maxi with sky high wedges while on a shopping trip with my boo.
“You’re always overdressed”
is something that I’ve heard from my older brother more times than I can count. But some people just don’t get it, poor guy.
Since you will now be able to shop a curated collection of some of the most stylish and classic styles in the game, it would only be right to give you some reasons to take your pants off, right?!
Here are 10 reasons :
Dresses let air flow, pants don’t. The heat gets REAL when you’re having a day out especially in areas like Texas. Having a day out means that there will be times you will be pretty much begging for some air. The sweat stains alone give me nightmares. A summer breeze in the right places are just what a girl needs on a hot day. Only a dress can make that happen.
Jeans aren’t meal friendly. Who doesn’t have those dinner dates when you decide to go extra hard on the chips and guacamole? Now, those are the days a billowy dress is made for!

Dresses can easily go from casual to dressy by changing your shoes. Tennis shoes and flats say casual but throw on a pair of heels. It will instantly change the game.
Dresses take up less space in your bag. Most of us, plan on taking some sort of trip this season. Jeans and trousers require a coordinating pieces, right? That means more space taken up in your bag. Avoid those ridiculously high baggage fees by packing dresses. You will have more outfit options on your vacay. Plus, the airlines don’t charge for carryons…yet.
You can pick length options based on your mood. Are you feeling a mini, midi, or maxi today?

It has been proven, kind of, that dresses brings more boys to the yard. The Express Tribunepoll is just one example of reports that support this.

Some dresses are magic. I’m not kidding! One of my favorite designers, DVF, created absolute body magic when she created the wrap dress. This silhouette (and others that pull you in at the waist) will create an hourglass shape unlike any other style. If you don’t have one then let me ask you, “What are you waiting for?”
Two words…skinny jeans. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of skinny jeans like everyone else. Hell, they are one of the reasons why I go to the gym 4x’s a week. But they aren’t exactly what I would call comfortable. Let’s be honest, I cringe even thinking about wearing them when I’m having one of those days. I’d much rather be in a button up sneakers. How ‘bout you?
