  • BLB Trunk Show NYE Party

On NYE, we threw a trunk show for all of the party goers that were coming to downtown San Antonio to bring in their 2016.  The invites were posted on our social media pages for everyone to come out and get their NYE celebration started early.

The morning of the event was so hectic!  As usual, I was running out grabbing champagne bottles, sweets, glasses, plates…basically everything needed to throw a decent party.  I haven’t quite figured out why I always wait until the very last minute to put things together but I’ve been like this my entire life!  And somehow, everything always falls right into place.  Whether it’s because there’s nothing I can do at that point or maybe because the event actually is perfect.  But since a time machine doesn’t exist (yet) to go back and change things, I’m usually well into going with the flow once the party begins.

Cake, cookies & champagne were on the menu.  Great way to bring in 2016 unless diet was on your list of resolutions.

Upon walking up the steps into the Blue Labels Boutique, you will always find a can full of props for selfies and pics!  For the party, we decided to bring the can inside and it was a big hit!

We had fabulous other entrepreneurs at the event as well.

Unfortunately, there was mishap in the dressing room.  Okay, a toddler was left unattended and this happened.  Fortunately, the baby wasn’t hurt.  Note to self: remind people to look after their babies.

It was completely my intention to provide lots of pics for the event but did I mention we have free flowing champagne?  A girls best friends…. more pics next time.  Cheers!  Thanks to everyone who came out to shop and enjoy the event with us.

                        Stay fearless!

    Fearless Woman: Dr. Froswa Booker-Drew

We are happy to announce that Fearless Woman Friday is back in effect with new episodes!  From the moment BLB started this series we knew that it would be a hit.  To date, we have shared stories from 23 women that have persevered and became triumphant through tragedy, female entrepreneurs, women who have swam with sharks, moved to another country, opened a yoga studio…that’s just to name a few.

BLB encourages women to live fearless in life and fashion.  You only have one life to live, but if you do it right, one time is enough!   This series is to celebrate the women who have decided to give fear the finger and say hello to actually living!

So without further ado, we present to you the 24th lady of the Fearless Woman Series!

  • “I’m Shopping For Something Different”

If you were to ask the average person if, “Shopping required skill?”, they would laugh it off and say,”no”.   If you asked me that question, I would say that, “it depends…are you basic or nawl?”  Unfortunately, this isn’t a yes or no question.  Yes…shopping is easy is you are a basic.  There’s no skill in picking a pair of beige leggings or a black cardigan.  Fortunately, I’m far from basic and you are far from basic too, right?  I mean any girl who shops at Blue Labels Boutique can be labeled alot of things but basic isn’t one of them!  Unique, innovative, fearless would be more appropriate  words to use when describing our style.  So when it comes to shopping…it isn’t as easy as it seems.  We just make it look easy.  Since most are more prone to doing what everyone, it’s easy to shop for what everyone is wearing.  But “different, unique” is not so easy to find when your shopping.  We can fix that though…

    Picture this…

You walk or log into Blue Labels Boutique

A BLB Bombshell greets you and asks, “If there something that I can help you find?”

You answer, “I’m shopping for accessories but I’m looking for something different.”

  • A Preview Of The: BLB Pop Up Shop!

A Preview Of The: BLB Pop Up Shop!

In a recent post, I caught you up on some of the latest things that have been going on at BLB.  Runway shows, Holiday Shopping Events, a new web series…yep, we have been busy. We are excited to give you even more of the latest info….BLB opened our first pop up shop!

The pop up shop is set in a home that was built in 1800s and is a neighborhood known as one of the oldest areas in San Antonio.

A 45 minute trip to pickup clothing racks turned into a 2 hour trip due to traffic and construction.  After getting there right before closing time and stuffing the boxing into a compact car, this is how we were left looking.
    IMG_3856.JPG
We filled the racks with jumpers and sexy dresses,

    blazers and bodysuits.

I decided it would be a great idea to mix in antique style furniture due to the age of the building.  Older furniture passed down from family was painted for a facelift and used to display clothes and accessories.

We re-painted a bookshelf and left out the shelving to use it as an armoire!

  • Pop Up Shops & Other Boutique Updates

Hey fearless fashionistas! With 2015, coming to end a lot faster than you can blink, I decided to sit back and see what accomplishments have happened this year.  So many great things that have happened to BLB that we actually are excited to celebrate 2016 in a big way. Just to jog your memory,  you may remember a few months back when Shonda Rhimes was selected as our #wcw.  She created her own lane and has really made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She also appears to be a bad ass who takes no BS from no one (that’s the vibe I get anyway) and that’s definite WCW material to me!  In the post, I mentioned a book she wrote called, My Year Of Yes. She indicated the book was inspired by her decision to say, yes, to all unexpected invitations. Saying yes, when she may have said no, took her career to another level.

I was so inspired by this, that I decided to follow her lead and add the “say yes” decision while still trying to live a fearless lifestyle.   It’s only been a few months, but in a short time, BLB has reached new heights!  Here are a few things that have popped off so far:

We had were in our first runway show. If you missed it, check out our YouTube Channel for backstage footage.

We started a kick ass web show called, Style Files Of A Fearless Chic. Style & beauty tips on under a minute.  Seriously, you have to check it out…it’s awesome!

We opened a holiday popup shop for a shopping event being gel in San Antonio.  Our mission was to create a small shopping space within a 4,000 square foot building.  The event is being held until 11/19.  It is located at 231 E. Houston, so stop by and shop with us…if you just happen to be in the area.  We were given about a week to put the space together however due to circumstances beyond our control, we did it in one day.  Here are some pics of the fun space that we created:

As you can see, the space was just concrete floors and white walls.

We took 11 wood planks and created a L-shaped wall.  We covered the back with thick white fabric.

    opensapicsIMG_4068IMG_4076opensa.racks

I wanted to create my idea of the dream closet for the space.  So after creating the faux wall, we used outlines, drawn by my nephew, to create the inside of the closet.  After filling the clothing racks, adding our signature blue hangers and a shabby chic rug, we were ready to go.  What do you think?

And our final announcement is that there is now a Blue Labels Boutique Pop up shop! Not a holiday shopping event, an actual popup that will be available for YOU to shop for the next 3 months.   If you want to feel and smell all things BLB…you can.  Wanna play dress up? Now you can right in the store!  Our new pop up is located in a historical area of San Antonio called La Villita. It’s a row of houses that were built in the 1800s, known as one of the first neighborhoods in San Antonio.  Stay tuned…the pics are coming shortly.  Let me know what you think of the exciting updates!
