BLB just added a new denim dress that is currently being coveted! I have 3 words for you… fringe, trumpet hem, & racerback (ok four words ☺️). Take a look at the dress that you will be dying to style time and time again.
Told you she’s a keeper! What do you think of denim dresses?
We are back to Monday and I hope your week is off to a good start. It is definitely off to a good start for me because of this super exciting secret that I’ve been keeping from all of you!
Remember last week when I told you that I wasn’t able to attend the SPIRIT Fashion Show in Pittsburgh? Well, the reason was because of some things that had to be taken care for a different event. I am happy to announce that BLB will be having another Pop Up Shop! Get all of the deets on the invite below.
It’s only 3 days away. Come out to the pop up and chat with me!
Hooray, it’s Fri-yay! I know it sounds corny but I couldn’t resist. ☺️
It was previously announced that BLB would be participating in the 2017 SPIRIT Fashion Show at Carnegie Mellon University. The event was last Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pa. I originally planned to attend the event but things changed at the very last minute. You will get the details on that later…
I was sick about missing the show and not being able to support the students from the audience. But since this was BLBs second year styling the CMU students for their annual show I knew one thing for sure…THEY WERE GOING TO KILL IT! And they didn’t disappoint. The message this year was resisting against the limits put on women.
Take a look at what went down at the SPIRIT FASHION SHOW ’17: RESISTANCE.

Enjoy your Easter weekend & let me know what you think about styles from the show?
FNF is all about celebrating fearless woman everywhere! But living fearless is no small feat. There is certainly levels to this. One of the ways to fuel fearlessness in woman is by encouraging you to live in fashion not fear. Simply put…wear what you what, when you want, how you want; without fear of what anyone has to say about it. If you wake up Monday morning and decide to wear a tulle midi skirt to the office instead of your signature black slacks, then do it! I say, hell yea, to wearing lace gloves just because. Why yes! that sheer top does look amazing with your denim mini skirt! Although this may all seem like basic style decisions to you, it’s not that easy for some people in the world. There are certain areas of the world where showing your knees can land you in some serious trouble. That means no denim cutoffs, can you imagine? Personally, I would do anything for the right dress…damn near. But a baggy orange jumpsuit with flip-flops isn’t exactly my idea of setting a trend. So, you better believe I follow these fashion rules to the tee.
Here are 9 reasons why you should be grateful to live in fashion not fear.
Over 450 Iranians were arrested for committing fashion crimes on Snapchat and Instagram.

There are Islamic countries that require women, by law, to conceal their entire body in public or in the presence of any adult males outside of their family.
In Qatar, a law was established that punishes and forbids anyone from wearing revealing or indecent clothes. They even have an organization that created a campaign that targeted those who are not covering their shoulders and knees. As well as those whos’ clothing is tight or transparent.

In Dubai, there are signs displayed at some malls and shopping centers indicating their dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered and no revealing clothes are allowed. As a matter of fact, breaking the law could get you a warning or you can get arrested.

In the first decade of the 21st century, there was some controversy in some southern U.S. states over sagging pants. The style was banned in some places.
In areas of Iran, women must cover their head with a scarf and wear trousers or a floor length skirt.

In Morocco, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) recommends dressing modestly. Some consider it disrespectful to show your knees and shoulders.

In Saudi Arabia, Saudi women cannot appear in public without their heads covered.
I lived in Izmir, Turkey, for a year. During that time, my family was advised to dress modest while in public as a precaution. Everyone has a different perspective. Some have followed these rules their entire life and don’t know what it is like to wear what they want. Others, follow for religious reasons, which I can certainly appreciate.
These are just some of the reasons I feel grateful to wear every single spaghetti strap number in my closet. What about you? Let me know in the comments…
Journalist, Sade A. Spence answered that question after we asked her to style the Victoria Daisydress.
Sade is in Brooklyn, NY and let’s just say they aren’t exactly basking in the sun at the moment. But I was so excited to learn that the fearless fashionista didn’t let the frigid temps stop her. Sade rocked it in the dress, proving not only that she is willing to freeze for fashion. But she also proves just how sexy you can be in 40 degree weather. Take a look…

Follow us on IG @bluelabelsboutiqueto make sure you don’t miss a thing. We will be headed to Pittsburgh, PA this week for the SPIRIT Fashion Show. It was recently announced that Blue Labels Boutique is now a dress boutique. Moving forward you will find the best styles of dresses, skirts, and accessories. We are growing and adding new dress styles each week and I couldn’t be more excited! To be honest, it was originally the plan to open as a dress boutique but at the last minute, I changed my mind. Damn fear. But after much thought, I decided it was time to change the game and go with my original plan. I have ALWAYS loved dresses. Dresses and skirts have been my go to style for every occasion for as long as I can remember. You will often find me on Saturday mornings in a mini with a pair of sneakers at my nephews basketball game. Or a maxi with sky high wedges while on a shopping trip with my boo.
“You’re always overdressed”
is something that I’ve heard from my older brother more times than I can count. But some people just don’t get it, poor guy.
Since you will now be able to shop a curated collection of some of the most stylish and classic styles in the game, it would only be right to give you some reasons to take your pants off, right?!
Here are 10 reasons :
Dresses let air flow, pants don’t. The heat gets REAL when you’re having a day out especially in areas like Texas. Having a day out means that there will be times you will be pretty much begging for some air. The sweat stains alone give me nightmares. A summer breeze in the right places are just what a girl needs on a hot day. Only a dress can make that happen.
Jeans aren’t meal friendly. Who doesn’t have those dinner dates when you decide to go extra hard on the chips and guacamole? Now, those are the days a billowy dress is made for!

Dresses can easily go from casual to dressy by changing your shoes. Tennis shoes and flats say casual but throw on a pair of heels. It will instantly change the game.
Dresses take up less space in your bag. Most of us, plan on taking some sort of trip this season. Jeans and trousers require a coordinating pieces, right? That means more space taken up in your bag. Avoid those ridiculously high baggage fees by packing dresses. You will have more outfit options on your vacay. Plus, the airlines don’t charge for carryons…yet.
You can pick length options based on your mood. Are you feeling a mini, midi, or maxi today?

It has been proven, kind of, that dresses brings more boys to the yard. The Express Tribunepoll is just one example of reports that support this.

Some dresses are magic. I’m not kidding! One of my favorite designers, DVF, created absolute body magic when she created the wrap dress. This silhouette (and others that pull you in at the waist) will create an hourglass shape unlike any other style. If you don’t have one then let me ask you, “What are you waiting for?”
Two words…skinny jeans. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of skinny jeans like everyone else. Hell, they are one of the reasons why I go to the gym 4x’s a week. But they aren’t exactly what I would call comfortable. Let’s be honest, I cringe even thinking about wearing them when I’m having one of those days. I’d much rather be in a button up sneakers. How ‘bout you?
Are you a dress lover? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
Who can’t wait for the weekend to begin?! Well, before you start your weekend celebration, please allow me to introduce you to this fearless lady!
Lara Flanagan is a single mom of 9 year twins. Which sounds busy enough, right? Well, this family of three aren’t just sitting around baking cookies (not that there is anything wrong with that). Let’s just say that this family of 3 are serious world travelers! They are currently 6 months into a 12 month backpacking adventure. During this time they will explore areas of Costa Rica, the United States, Italy, Thailand and Cambodia. As someone who will work for travel myself, I really fell in love with her story.
Check out Laras’ story in this weeks’ episode of Fearless Woman.
Happy First Day Of Spring 2017!! That’s right, Winter is officially over! I am lucky enough to have been enjoying Sunny days for quite some time. You can’t beat Texas weather. But, I know that those of you on other sides of the map (and world) are counting down the days until sunshine shows itself again. You might not feel the change yet, just hold on, she’s coming!
Last week, the announcement was made that BLB will be returning to the SPIRIT Fashion Show this year. We will be styling the CMU students in pieces from our new Spring 2017 Collection. Wouldn’t it nice to get a preview of what styles will be hitting the runway? I thought so too! Here is a sneak peak of three pieces that will be on the runway; April 8, 2017 in Pittsburgh, PA. On the Carnegie Mellon University Campus, of course. Feel free to shop the dresses now, while you still can! You’re welcome. 😉
